Inner guidance is an energy, a sensation and can come in many forms.

When Divine Guidance Leads the Way

Can you remember a time when you felt or sensed that an action needed to be taken, even though it seemed illogical? Perhaps the path you felt drawn towards appeared harder or more complicated than the one you were about to choose.

I was listening to Sonia Choquette, an intuitive speaker, who invited her listeners to reflect on a time when they had experienced something like this. As I listened, I remembered a remarkable experience involving my daughter and me.

We both had a dream on the same night in which we were shown that my daughter needed to attend university in Wellington to complete her degree. At the time, she had already been accepted into a course in Auckland. What are the chances that we would both have the same dream on the same night?

In our dreams, we were both shown that if she continued on her current path and attended Auckland University, she would be very unhappy and even anorexic. So, despite already having a place in Auckland, my daughter chose to trust the guidance we had both received and pursue a place at university in Wellington. Admittedly this pivot was made easier by the fact we both had the same message at the same time!

This took absolute trust. She had to turn down her Auckland offer and work towards being accepted in Wellington, despite having no guarantee that it would happen. She went to the university in Wellington every day to plead her case. Although she was repeatedly told it was impossible, she was eventually accepted! The impossible was made possible.

When we trust divine guidance and have the courage to follow it, pathways can open in ways we never imagined.

Making ourselves available to guidance can bring wonderful changes into our lives. Guidance is never a mandate; it is a suggestion. It may invite us to consider possibilities we would never have thought of ourselves, or encourage us to take a path that seems illogical from the outside.

Looking back, I can see how important that decision was. My daughter met her husband in Wellington and now runs a successful business there. The choice wasn’t easy, but the direction to go to Wellington felt absolutely right to both of us.

Sometimes, the path that feels right isn’t the easiest or most obvious one. It may require courage, trust, and a willingness to step into the unknown. Yet when we listen to that quiet inner knowing and have the courage to act on it, we may discover that life has something wonderful waiting for us.

So, if you find yourself facing a decision and aren’t sure which way to turn, take a moment to pause. Ask for help. Ask for guidance, and remain open to how it might come to you.

You may be surprised by where it leads.
