What is tapping?

I am currently attending the online world tapping summit. Tapping is a way of calming and activating the body’s meridians. This calms the energy circuits in the body so that the amygdala calms and new welcome thoughts can be introduced.

The first point in the practise is to recognise your current state. For example, you start by saying ‘Even though I feel this fear, I choose to love and accept myself. Even though I am anxious about this thing, I love and accept myself. You make these statements whilst tapping certain points on your body.

Gradually, as you tap, your statements take on a more proactive tone and you can then move into the affirmations and behaviours you desire. Tapping and saying affirmations as mentioned in a previous blog is recommended by Louise Hay.
