Reiki

What is Reiki? Reiki is a form of hands on energy healing. It is universal life force energy which is transferred to the person in need. Reiki changes the vibration of your body. It flows through the pathways and energy centres called chakras as well as flowing around the body in a field of energy called the aura. It can disperse blockages and charge the body with positive energy, raising the vibration of the whole body. This strengthens the body’s own ability to heal itself. Because Reiki is guided by a Higher Intelligence (God, the Universe, Divine Source, your Soul, or Higher Self or whatever description you feel comfortable with), the energy goes to where ever it is needed in your body.

I am a third degree trained practitioner. I recently visited Japan and went to the memorial of Dr. Mikao Usui who developed the healing system we use in the West in the 1920s. I now feel a deep connection to the place and I remain very grateful to him for providing us with this healing modality.

I rediscovered the power of Reiki when I was in hospital recovering from a serious car accident. I was in pain which was bad enough when suddenly I started seeing lights flashing. I had briefly looked at a visiting friend’s phone. This was enough to trigger this because I had a major head injury. I was desperate to get rid of this extra symptom I had developed. Suddenly I remembered Reiki. I decided to use it on myself. Within moments the lights in my vision stopped flashing. I couldn’t believe I had stopped doing Reiki and had forgotten how powerful it was. From then on I consistently gave myself Reiki. I also accepted distance healing from friends. My accident was a spiritual awakening. I began to use this energy again. Reiki was a key component in my healing journey.

What will a Reiki treatment involve? All you need to do is lie down on the massage table-fully clothed and receive the energy healing. Treatments usually take an hour. I place my hands in 12 positions over your head and body. There is no pressure, manipulation or massage. You usually feel warm, relaxed and peaceful as the energy flows through you; people often fall asleep during the treatment: although sometimes you might feel heat, coolness or tingles where my hands are placed. At times some people may feel a bit emotional , as the Reiki releases blocked energy sometimes memories may come into your mind. After a treatment some people feel super energised, while others feel very tranquil and relaxed. Receiving Reiki really is such a wonderful healing experience. Come and try it out for yourself.
