Stress busters to reduce anxiety
When we are in stress most people hover between up and down moments. If you give your attention to the breath your heart rate becomes smoother. It informs the brainwaves to come in synch with the heart. You actually start leaning towards a more calm and peaceful state.
Kindness is the opposite of stress. So if you want to create a sense of wellbeing in your body focus on something kind someone has done for you or a kind act you have done for someone else. This focus on the act of kindness actually creates kindness hormones. Stress goes down. Mindful breathing that includes a focus on kindness will make it easier for you raise your vibration and experience positive emotions. This is very similar to what happens when we focus on gratitude. Some of the same things happen when we practise gratitude.
If we exercise the muscle of kindness it will be stronger. Kindness hormones are cardio protective. The brain does not distinguish between what is real and what is not so just remembering or visualising the act of kindness will help reduce anxiety. The part of the brain that makes you feel anxious pulls the blood away from the frontal part. Kindness hormones turn down the intensity of that part of the brain called the amygdala. The act of recalling an experience of kindness will act like a dimmer switch and you will feel calmer.
